SEMO Fair

The SEMO District Fair is an annual outreach event for Libertarians from all over southeast Missouri.

Another Year at the SEMO District Fair
In September 2013, we successfully completed our 20th consecutive year at the SEMO District Fair.  Thanks to Rick Vandeven, Bill Berry, Adam Bradt and Spencer Dewerff for making the time to man the booth and talk to fairgoers interested in the Libertarian Party.  Thanks to Greg Tlapek, Tim Doubledee and Pete Kerr for coming up with the $365 it cost to rent the space and thanks to the supporters of the Missouri Libertarian Party who paid for the insurance policy required to be a vendor at the fair.  --Greg Tlapek

It was noteworthy that the Democratic Party did not have a booth at the fair this year.  Please click on the "Volunteer" tab and leave a message in the comment box if you would like to be contacted next year to help. Please make a contribution now to help with next year's expenses.

DONATE

The Libertarian Party first appeared at the SEMO District Fair in Cape Girardeau in 1980. That was the first year there was a Libertarian Party candidate on the ballot in Missouri. In 1994, when Greg Tlapek first ran for US Congress, supporters of the movement brought the Libertarian Party back to the fair and it's been there ever since. That's nineteen consecutive years. There's lots you can do to help. The easiest thing is to simply stop by when you're at the fair and be friendly. If you want to do more, hang around. You'll attract your friends and acquaintances and the attention of fair goers. The booth is generally staffed from 3pm until 9pm each day of the fair. Weekends start a little earlier.

Our new location is by the entrance used by people who park in the ball fields across the street from the rides. It's a great location.

Money always helps. It's usually the same old supporters who pay for everything. Anything you do will be a help. Click on the "Donate" tab to make a contribution or find a mailing address to send a check.

The Libertarian Party

The Libertarian Party is America's third largest political party, founded in 1971. Our vision is for a world in which all individuals can freely exercise the natural right of sole dominion over their own lives, liberty and property by building a political party that elects Libertarians to public office, and moving public policy in a libertarian direction.
